OUR MISSION

Angel Ranch, Inc. maintains a licensed, residential facility in Lafayette County which can shelter a maximum of 12 children who require temporary, emergency care while in the protective custody of the MS Department of Human Services with their physical and emotional safety being our foremost concern.

Children are cared for by a supportive and nurturing staff with involved community volunteers and service learners who provide love, guidance, proper food, clothing, medical treatment, mentoring, tutoring, and counseling while the MS Department of Human Services investigates their home situation and/or seeks their foster family placement.

School-aged children are enrolled in our local schools and have the opportunity to attend local churches and participate in community activities.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote the safety, health, and well-being of abused, abandoned, and neglected children by providing a safe temporary emergency foster home in a sheltered environment for children, ages birth through 17, of both sexes, in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Human Services from any county within the State of Mississippi, all children to be in the legal custody of the State of Mississippi at the time of intake;
  2. To provide complete 24/7 care for the above named categories of children in a homelike setting, with regular house parents and necessary support staff to nurture these children and to minister to their physical and emotional needs with a planned program of social services as directed by the appropriate state agencies;
  3. To provide the necessary and appropriate care to the maximum number of children allowed under the license issued by the State of Mississippi to the Corporation;
  4. To provide qualified and trained employees and volunteers for all children in our care;
  5. To provide professional training for staff on a local, state, and national level;
  6. To master diversification of funding;
  7. To increase the community’s awareness and understanding of the services provided by Angel Ranch, Inc.;
  8. To effect systemic change among all systems responsible to abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
