THE CHALLENGE-WHO DOESN’T WANT TO HELP MISSISSIPPI KIDS?
Angel Ranch is presenting its needs to individuals and groups and recruiting donors who challenge others to make contributions. Contributions are being made in memory of a loved one and in honor of friends and family in lieu of gifts for Christmas, anniversaries, retirement, birthdays, etc.
Call (662)234-3320 to schedule a presentation to your family, friends, church, business, organization, etc. You can also send in this form.
Dear Concerned Citizens,
In the wake of Katrina, Rita and Wilma, there are endless opportunities to give to the relief effort. We are overwhelmed with sadness and feelings of helplessness as we see photo after photo of broken families, broken houses and broken hearts as a result of one of the greatest disasters in our nation’s history. As I see group after group after group reach out to the victims to help meet their needs, I also feel helpless as to how to convey to you the daily needs of abused children whose graphic injuries at the hands of abusive adults usually close to them remain invisible during a storm that surges every day in their lives.
Without being offensive or politically incorrect, I cannot show you graphic photos of abuse, neglect, exploitation or abandonment; however, I can beg on behalf of these children. There are currently 20+ children in the custody of the Lafayette County Department of Human Services. When they each were individually taken into custody, each and every one of them was a victim. Most were placed in foster care outside Lafayette County due to no available foster facility here. We should be ashamed of neglect ourselves. We should be fighting to provide $300,000 annually to maintain Angel Ranch. Every day children have urgent needs for shelter and loving care. Imagine them with physical and emotional bruises and burns. Imagine them hungry and helpless. Imagine them with only the clothing on their backs with no loving parent.
How fortunate most of us are to have received love and encouragement from our parents. Those of us who are parents are our children’s best advocates. Children who are abused by their parents do not have the strong voice of a parent advocate to act on their behalf. Parents of abused children do not seek help for their children’s physical, emotional and spiritual health and safety. If those of us who are concerned for these children do not act, no one will. We will be leaving these children in a storm that batters their bodies and spirits day after day after day.
I beg you to each take this challenge with you and participate as an advocate for children who have none. Don’t wait to act. Children are suffering every day. They are not on our television shows or in our newspapers. We do not see them; therefore we forget them. Please act now to save children tossed about in their own personal storms.
I encourage you to find a group to accept the following challenge, copy it and post it so that Angel Ranch can maintain its program of care and services to the abused, abandoned, exploited and neglected children in Mississippi. Exhibit civic responsibility by embracing the goal to maintain Angel Ranch by joining with a group that will advocate on behalf of abused children to accept this challenge.
Thank you.
Sue, Angel Ranch Director
THE CHALLENGE
Angel Ranch is searching for organizations, offices, businesses, faculties, etc. whose members each recruit Angel Ranch donors who contribute $1,000 or more annually. If group membership is 25, ideally, Angel Ranch would receive at least $25,000 annually.
When the 4 month campaign ends, the organizations pass the same challenge on to other groups who will accept it, who conduct the same 4 month campaign to recruit annual donors and so on?
This would provide each group with great publicity as well as sustain Angel Ranch’s program which will require nearly $1,000 daily, forever, to provide adequate care and services to abused, abandoned, exploited and neglected children.
As this campaign continues, it will provide funds to sustain the Angel Ranch budget and to award college scholarships to foster children, to assist foster families with additional income for children in their care, to build a group home in our county, etc.
You can make a difference in the lives of children who need to be at Angel Ranch. Join this campaign now.
